ONLINE Paper Slippers Workshop

This online Paper Slippers workshop will take place live on Zoom. In this session Jennifer will demonstrate patchworking and piecing papers using hand and machine stitch to create the 'fabric' for your slippers. She will then go onto showing you how to construct the flat shapes into 3 dimensional slippers. She will also show ideas to decorate the slipper, such as paper Suffolk Puffs, mini paper roses and decorative hand stitches like Cross Stitch, Blanket Stitch and a beautiful Venetian Needlelace stitched edge.

Materials are not provided for this workshop, but all essential materials should be things that you can very easily find.

You can choose to hand or machine stitch the papers in this workshop, and Jennifer will give you hints and tips for both.

In this online workshop you will make paper slippers from found and recycled papers that are 18 x 7 x 3cm (7 x 2.7 x 1.1") approx.

You will have the choice to work alongside Jennifer throughout the session or watch her demonstrations but work away from the screen. There will be a half an hour break halfway through the workshop.

You will receive a zoom link to the session via email a few days after booking and then be emailed the slipper template* along with a reminder 2 weeks before the workshop date.

To take part you need:
-Access to a printer (to print the template- you can do this at a library)
-Found/recycled papers (such as old maps, book pages, letters, sheet music etc)
-Glue Stick (Pritt stick or similar)
-Grey board (back of a note pad or similar. One that is thicker and one thinner is ideal)
